Our VOLTCON, made of metallic thread is suitable to use in sensitive flammable atmospheres down to 0.25milliJoules(The most sensitive propan-air mixture that can be ignited with an electrostatic discharge is around 0.25milliJoules) which is minimum ignition energy on the bag surface, and surface resistance value of less than 2.0 x 10 3(three) Ohms.

With the bags earthed, application of the -60kV corona voltage  produces a surface potential on bags of less than 5kV.

Our conductive bag is officially certified (both laminated and unlaminated) when liner is used, the user can obtain the same effect if anti-static liner is used as the liner is put on the fabric surface.

 Classification of materials

Most commercially available FIBCs(Four types)

Type A
plain woven polypropylene with no antistatic feature.

 Type B
constructed from a material exhibiting a breakdown strength of 4 kilovolts or less but with no other antistatic features.

Type C
with a conductive/partially conductive coating or threads which limit the bag's electrostatic potential. This type of FIBC must be earthed.

Type D
antistatic features without the need to earth.

Type A & B should not be used in the presence of flammable hydrocarbons(zones 0,1). Type C is commonly used in such areas. Type D must be evaluated and certified prior to use in sensitive flammable atmospheres
